B.M.A. accounts Operation of electricity

Hong Kong Electric Company Limited.

I confirm that the War Office received

credit through the B.M.A. accounts for all coal received by the company on which subsidy was paid for the month of April.

I enclose an analysis of coal transactions for the period in question. The company acknowledged receipt of and was charged, by crediting to the B.M.A. accounts in April, the sum of $2,324,701.62 for 22,881 tons of which only 19,190 tons were consumed up to 30th April 1951. The amount of subsidy due by the War Office $193,157.50 is now more properly based on the actual consumption figures for April 1946.

I hope this information is satisfactory to the War Office. I regret the delay in replying.

I am trying to produce the figures required for the China Light and Power Co., Ltd.
